CENTRAL
OREGON - Bigger and better than ever best describes this
year's Fall Classic. A bigger crowd combined with more snow
and lower than usual temperatures created a memorable
and we think "better" experience for all Fall
Classic participants. Excitement ensued even before we
started as extremely treacherous road conditions forced a
couple of participants into the ditch before the rendezvous
point in LaPine. The

Bend, OR
- Sometimes it is just good to load up the family and head for the hills
and what better a combination than the central Oregon high desert and
the ARB equipped Suzuki Equator. Our long-term loaner Suzuki Equator has
really become a welcomed addition to our stable of adventure vehicles.
It's peppy 4 liter V6 engine and factory rear locker combine to provide
on-road drivability and off-road credibility to this current offering
from Suzuki. Overland

Reno, NV - The
ZUKIWORLD Challenge 2011 season kicked off at the inaugural Master Pull
USA 500 during an unseasonably cool July weekend. Six teams, ranging from
experienced to brand new, and reigning from Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and
California converged on this new Vorra sanctioned event and began their
assault on this new to us and new to Vorra 500+ mile course located just
to the east of Reno, Nevada. Zukiworld

Calmini products has long been known as an innovator for Suzuki
aftermarket parts and accessories. They were the first to come out with a
full line of performance products for the Suzuki Sidekick and have built
on that by being the first to offer a solid axle swap kit that uses all
Suzuki based running gear. Calmini does this by building bracketry to
attach links and coil over shocks to a Suzuki Samurai front housing. For
those that want to keep their Suzuki 'all Suzuki' this kit is the ticket. Suzuki

Blackfoot, ID - One of the key points of the
ZUKIWORLD Challenge desert racing series is to provide an affordable
alternative for those that are excited and passionate about racing but may
not have the cubic dollars required to compete in most of the current
desert racing classes. The 4-B Motorsports team is no stranger to racing
with several builds and successful seasons with championships in circle
track racing, the team was looking for a venue to expand their racing
knowledge and have a little fun along the way. Affordable

Molalla, OR - One
of the most common problems with our Samurai as they age is the transfer
case bushing failure that causes the transfer case to get stuck in neutral.
Luckily, the fix for this is quite easy and can be done in a matter of
minutes with common hand tools. So, after you got stuck in neutral on the
trail, used a couple of screwdrivers to shift back into a range, and
driven yourself home, give the folks at Low Range a call and pick up this
simple affordable product and let your troubles melt away. Samurai

For the last ten years the US Forest Service has partnered with local
groups to rehabilitate and create wildlife habitat in an area most
famously known for it's hot springs but used by most locals for it's
other beneficial offerings. The Oregon Hunters Association, Rocky
Mountain Elk Foundation, Mid-Valley Crawlers 4x4 club, as well as others
have been working on this project for many years and the results have
been beneficial to the area's wildlife population. We were fortunate
enough to be able to participate this year and help out and as an added
bonus, we were able to use our on loan Suzuki Equator to great benefit
as we worked through the day's projects.

Moab, UT - This was the 45th anniversary
for the Easter Jeep Safari currently being held and organized by the Red
Rock 4-Wheelers. The 'Zukfari had taken a break in 2010 but now it was time
to go back to an awesome environment and enjoy the trails, people, and
places of Moab. This year we kept the schedule light as to allow for
flexibility and the unexpected. We did manage to run several excellent
trails, old favorites and some new, and saw some new faces as well as some familiar ones. Day one of the 'Zukfari had Mike leading one of the
premier must-ride trails in Moab; the Moab Rim. Click for more Zukiworld

PORTLAND, OR - Most of the time
here at Zukiworld H.Q., we plan our trips out months in
advance and try to pack as much fun as possible into each
and every moment to maximize the time we have out in the
great out doors and this pays off well. However, sometimes
it is just as advantageous to pick up the phone, call a
couple buddies, and head for the hills. Saturday was that
kind of day. The weather we have been having here in the
Pacific Northwest this winter has been brutal as it has been
in many areas of the world. The end result is that a lot of
the days are being spent indoors and winter's dreary grip is
even more soul crushing than usual. We set off early
in the morning.... Pacific

Minneapolis,
MN - Last Year I
bought a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker from the classifieds right
here on ZW. It was rough and I knew it, but it ran and
drove, so it had to be worth $800 right? A couple hundred
miles later the motor let go in a big way. I
was bummed at first but after I got over my flawed
investment I decided to turn a lemon into lemonade. It
has always frustrated me that Chevrolet / Suzuki had all the
key components to putting a great off-road package together
for the Tracker/Vitara but never did. The closest they ever
came was the ZR2 which, in my opinion, fell way short. I
would have built a 2 door with, a V6, steel front diff, the
much larger XL7 rear diff, XL7 brakes, 5.12 gear ratio and
33 inch tire. I decided to do just that. This
is where the Project ZR3 begins.
