Gettin my Camp Site ready for winter
« on: November 02, 2008, 06:58:27 PM »
I don't suppose this is really an "Adventure", but I haven't posted much lately, and thought I would share what I did do today.... I have about 180 acres in thick woods and runs along a couple ridges. I picked out a nice spot up on a ridge, cleared it out, and I've been camping there in the winter for the last couple years....

These are just some pics I snapped today when I took some firewood up the hill.

Ready to unload

My camping/offroading/hiking buddy checking out my work

Trying to decide which tree I gotta cut down next.

Looks nice. The trees sure are good this fall. Where are you located? The black on black tracker looks great.

Thanks. I've gotta clean up some of the camp, it's growin up some. I didn't get up in the woods much this year becuase the keyway broke on my crank in the tracker, and I just got it fixed a month or so ago. I usually cut trees in late summer, but I was a little behind this year.

I live in Southern KY. I'm about an hour east of Mammoth Cave Nat'l. Park.... It's all ridge and Holler land, so it's not good for farming or pasture land. Just hunters and myself have found good use the the it  ;D .

I'm jealous, my wife and I spent a long weekend in Pennyrile state park last year. That area is beautiful and would be great for wheeling.  ;D

Yeah. There are a bunch of huge x large trucks around. Most people here love the deep muck... I don't like having to clean every nook of my rig and replace seals all the time, so I like to run trails and do some rock climbing when I find em.

Nope, just trying to be funny. Sorry you didn't see the humour in my reply. Also good to see others from else where when I read other boards. Guess I need to keep in mind the different attitudes of different boards. Some are just more uptight than others.

You wont ever get any snowboarding where I live. The weather is nice though. The summers get a little too humid for most in July and Aug, but I don't mind it. Spring and Fall are great and Winter gets good and cold. But there's not a whole lot of snowfall.
