Not Suzuki sad day
« on: July 06, 2017, 05:25:23 PM »
I have not been a member here long but hope I have a few friends to share me being down.  Some of you have seen my "Don't try this at home" post of using my backhoe to pickup the back of the Tracker to wash the underside.  Well, today I started out pressure washing the backhoe in preparation for some maintenance.  At the end the horn shorted out but I "thumped" it and it stopped.  I came in, cleaned up and was eating lunch when my wife looked out front and yelled that the backhoe was on fire.  She called 9-1-1 and I grabbed the hose and put out the tires and cooled off the fuel tank, the Hyd tank and put out the grass fire under it before it could burn through the fuel and Hyd lines.  I have things to do with it and it was the source of a little income for me.  Time to take the Chevuki to the bay and go fishing.  I am really down.  Tio Pick in Paradise on the Rio  I appreciate y'all letting me share this off topic thing (and significant financial set back).

Sorry to read about what happened.  I am sure that is a hard hit to take.

I was just (today) working on a newer powerhead on my outboard motor, and noticed that there were two power leads before the only fuse.  I thought that was a poor idea and rewired it so they were after the fuse.  My thinking was it was gong to be hard to disconnect the motor if anything started smoking before all wiring was fried.  It was the correct call for me (this time).
Like Richard, I can feel your loss.  Good luck fishing, are you going to Clark Island?

Yes on Clark Island, hopefully before long but I am still looking for a buddy to go along with me fishing.  Thanks for your comments Tio
