Read end gears in the front?
« on: September 12, 2015, 05:31:35 PM »
The guy who had my samurai before me had 5.13 gears in the rear and 2 something in the front. I have spare 5.13 rear gears, will they fit up front?

It depends. The 5.13 Sidekick/Tracker/Vitara gears came with a larger rear third and a smaller front third. The smaller front third is the same size of a Samurai, and they can be installed in a stock Samurai axle housing. Please perform a search for more details as there are a variety of ways these gears can be installed.

Rear gears from a Sidekick or Tracker 89-98 will not fit in a Samurai front. Front gears will fit in the front if you shim the carrier, Suzuki parts suppliers ( Petroworks, Trail Tough etc...) carry the parts to do it.
