Hey guys well first off I bought the Trail Tough kit looks sweet once I get it all done but my concern is I am doing a complete off the frame resto so I see it uses some of the stock stuff like the u bolts but I could not get them off the were so rusted so I cut them is there any other stock parts I need to save for this lift and also can I just go to my local hardware store and buy the u bolts and if so what size would they need to be?

Give Trail Tough a call and buy u-bolts from them or Sky at SORD. I just got a set from Sky and he has really nice quality u-bolts. The stuff you get at the hardware store are usually crappy. "Quality" u-bolts have a really thick flat washer and a deeper / taller nut that works better.

Good luck, Eric

Gotta give Sean a little love here, check out http://www.lowrangeoffroad.com/samsuspparts.htm a little over half way down, both stock and 2" extended U-bolts.

you local spring shop can get you some good u-bolts too....call them and they'll tell you how to measure. I've gotten a few sets made and they always work great...and they'll come with the good washers and double high nuts.

don't buy the hardware store junk....they are meant to hold something on a flag pole.

This lift is well documented here on our site. From the Gear Guide section there are two articles that will help.

http://www.zukiworld.com/month_050104/feature_trailtough_yjlift_install.htm

and

Good luck, Eric

I wouldn't... Where are you going to put a bumpstop? But seriously, if you look at the build article there are really detailed photos...

Hmm, good point... It has been so long since I had that Samurai I had forgotten that the original bump stop perches were removed during installation. The Samurai in the article did not have traditional bump stops on it but used the rubber stop on the Deutsch tech shocks as a bump.
