The most activity on this race seems to be on race-dezert.com. The thread is:

There is over 45 trucks and buggies signed up for fun! It's looking like a big race.

If you've got a sporty Suzuki, jump into this... This is your chance to race on a closed private course for 4 hours! That kind of opportunity doesn't come along very often.

Any word on having a second pit at the halfway point on the course?  If so, I need to find another pit crew. Roll Eyes

I'm sorry. I didn't know that you requested information on that. No, there is not a second pit area. The course is a 10.2 mile loop and there are hot pits and regular pits but they are right next to each other. Hot pits for fuel, tires, etc... "behind the wall" to the regular pits for big repairs.

There was a pre-run last weekend and the report was that the course was pretty choppy (12hr motorcycle race just finished), many lock-to-lock turns, and it took a class 7 pickup about 28 minutes to do a lap.

Yep, the vehicle was a ford ranger that has raced BITD in class 7. Not all of the course is tight but there is a section that is a series of chicanes which are tight.

With that kind of time it would be around 8-10 laps (with lots of variables).

Still looking like a baja style start?  20-30 sec intervals?

Thought I read that they were looking into a second set of pits............could be for the races on sunday-seems like there may be more veh racing on sunday.

Thanks Eric

Yeap, I think you're on with how many laps / miles. I'm not actually "running" the race but do have input of course. Um, I'm pretty sure we'll have a staggered start of some kind of interval. There is only one formal pit area on the course and I think it's set up for something like 160 15x60 sized pits. Plenty of room! Smiley
