I am reluctantly selling my 1988 Suzuki Samurai daily driver. I have owned and driven this daily for nearly 6 years and it has been a great vehicle that has been ultra fun to drive and own. I am only selling it because it is no longer practical for my other hobbies - I need something that can pull a trailer. Here is my craigslist ad for some pictures.
http://desmoines.craigslist.org/cto/5434496933.html I am working on more pictures this weekend.
Asking price is $5500 - I have over 10K invested in this with original purchase and all repairs and upgrades, which I know I'll never recover, but it would be nice to find it a good home where someone will be able to enjoy it and care for it.
Here is a summary of what I have done to it in the years I have owned it:
*One year old 1.3L (has about 6000 miles on it now) with My-Side 2 CV carb setup
*most rust repaired and painted a year ago (some slight remaining rust on the front of the rear wheel wells, perhaps a 3" circle area and some across the back where the tub attaches to the tailgate frame.)
*new tires last year
*new Old Man Emu springs this fall
*heater core removed and cleaned and I added a screen at the top of the intake to help keep it clean
*new top with the body work
*Gm 105 amp alternator conversion
*I redid the knuckle and wheel bearings and seals when I first purchased it and it looks like the pass side is leaking again
*I also replaced the rear wheel bearings when I did the fronts
*new 2 inch exhaust with the new engine
*I have rattle can undercoated it every year that I have owned it and this year I removed all the trim and undercoated behind the trim as well to add another layer of rust protection after the body work investment.
*I do have the rear seat, it is just not in the pictures.
As a final note, during our last snowstorm, I developed a vibration when in 4WD. It seems to be localized to the driveshaft, I just haven't had time to get it pulled and checked out.
Edit: I was able to get under it today as I was taking pictures and the flange on the front axle is not at the same angle as the transfer case. I am going to look into getting it fixed at the place that installed the OME springs.
