Its a dream of mine to be at a stop light and just take a moment to reflect on the awesome sounds of my turbo'd motor gushing out of the exhaust.
I haven't herd of anyone doing this swap, just thought one day of a samurai all cummins'd out. A suggestion to adding a motor like this to the samurai would be to reinforce the frame rails with lots cross bracing. I also wouldn't exactly trust the thickness of the frame rails.
What sparked the idea was being able to use the samurai to tow a 1800lb race car out of the neighborhood I live in as the roads are gravel and KILL the tires, but still be able to keep the samurai somewhat "normal".

I have a friend who has put a 4BT in his 79 Jeep.

It's incredibly heavy and he has yet to get it to run as he is having trouble finding suitable engine mounts.  He is also not sure if the Peugot transmission can handle it.

Although the "cool factor" would Monumental, I think you would end up with a giant pig-in-a-poke money-pit if you installed a 4BT in a Samurai.

I once saw a Sami with a 455 V-8 at a ZookiMelt.  It lasted less than a day on it's maiden voyage. At the first offcamber section of trail, it rolled.  And Rolled.

Not pretty.
