Fan drive belt.

Fan drive belt.

Good day people!

Just wondering how hard it is to remove and install a fan drive and alternator drive belt on a 4 dr. SUZI SPORT 1.8.

It's kind of a pain, just did one, had to get a larger belt than stock to get it to fit, the belt cover has instructions on it, take out one maybe two of the ac pump bolts out and push it in, change it and put the pump back, one belt runs all. check you idler pullys also.

Mrfuelish, I think you must not have a Sport.  I replaced the serpentine belt on mine (which runs everything except the fan) a while back.  It is a simple 5 minute task.  A wrench on the idler pulley loosens things up enough to remove the old belt and install the new one.  My fan belt was in good shape, so I can't comment on the difficulty of replacing it.

It's not mine it's a friends, yes we went to the auto parts (the ones that should say sorry when they give you the wrong part or from some reject batch)ordered the correct part and guess what no fit, we went back and got another one, still no fit, went back and got a longer one,there was only two bolt holes to adjust the belt you pick one or the other (maybe my friend is just lucky that way ?) where my sammie and my kicks both have a slotted adjusment so you can get the correct belt deflection, so either we both missed the slotted part or a bad who knows what? I just say it was a pain and leave it at that.

Guess I was lucky.  The store had to order the belt and the correct belt came the first try.  I did not, however, have to loosen any bolts or move the AC compressor.  A wrench on the idler pulley bolt moved the idler enough to swap the belts.

Which pully? there was two of them and the factory book said to use the ac pump bolts.

The pulley between the power steering pump and the crankshaft pulley. 

EDIT:  I just checked the Chilton manual.  It recommends this method.  This might be one case where the aftermarket manuals are useful.
