95 Soft Top Help
« on: August 04, 2006, 05:51:58 AM »
I have the top, the bars and plastic trim that goes around the targa and such - but I have no screws/bolts, etc. I have no idea what the skinny bar is for... if anyone knows what I need for hardware, please let me know  ;) The truck has a hardtop on now, so I'll be starting with no soft top hardware on at all.

PS - I have the bolts for the front bar above the driver/passenger, I'm only confused with the rear  ::) There sure looks to be more to it than the earlier tops!

Okay...  ???

I think I figured everything out, I lifted the hardtop a little and I see some tabs that will accept a small screw to mount the plastic trim pieces, and I see where the skinny bar goes - but I don't see why it needs to be there. I'm now confused with the rear window, I have the aluminum bar that it slides into, but there must be something the bar mounts to; if anyone can help out with some pictures, it would be apreciated.

There should be 2 aluminum bars. And one bar that clips onto the back, there should be a bracket there that looks like an unsidedown L. The back window has a small piece of nylon tubing in the bottom of it that slides into the channel in that bar. As far as all the plastic pieces go you have to screw them into the small tabs that you saw. The aluminum bars are easy to put on. One screws into the corner of the body that the front corner of the hard top sits. You can see 2 screw holes there. There  also is the tubular bar for the back that screws in with the little screws that hold the plastic in. When I got my new trackick it was all taken off and I had to figure it out. It was pretty easy if you have all the pieces. If i can find the cord to my camera I will take some pictures. Andrew

I now know I don't have the brackets that hold in the aluminum bar that the window is slid into, that is a problem. And I only have one aluminum bar, the one for the window - what's the other for?
