Hi all. my name is Tim and I just love this site! I have a 90 sidekick 2dr with 3" body and 2" spring lift on 31's. Very happy with it's performance. This is a daily driver but I wheeled the crap out of it. I have loads of spare parts, parts car and a locker. Now I'm looking for a sweet mint trackick that I could build up but I'm getting cold feet guys! I'm in need of a guide.

I'm a minimalist to the max and I would like to have a trucklet that is bare bones. Creature comfort is not my thing. I like a rough ride and I like SAS. I don't like computers, wires, vacuum hoses, censers and junk which points me in the sami direction. Simplicity is my main goal.
Should I be looking for a sami or stick with the kick?
If I go sami, what parts are interchangeable that I should hang on to? hubs, gears, trans, brakes, alternator, power steering etc.

What I don't like about it is the car like body and car like interior. Love the dish dash though (small dog spot).     

Having owned both the Sammie is more what you are looking for.  I settled on a Tracker because I'm 6'4" and need the extra space.  As for the interchangeable parts I'm sure there are some other folks who can chime in on this.  I sold the Sammie and got a Kick' and built that out a bit so I never looked at kick to Sammie swaps, but I do know there a quite a few.

Hey thanks for the quick reply. Yea I think your right. I'm not a mechanic by any means but I am mechanically inclined. I struggle and feel lost in the dark with diagnosing fuel injection. Carbs are finicky and cry for attention but are easy to diagnose and that seems to be my problem.
Are sammie body's thicker then kicks?
And are the windows problematic like kicks?
Is there a magic year for sammies?
