Dilemma!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: March 08, 2004, 10:21:14 PM »
In "The floor just fell off" post i said that i will buy an Grand vitara for replacement of my old tired 92 tracker...

But yesterday i found an 2000 suzuki vitara 2 doors in indigo blue metallic!

2L I4 16V (it's simple cam or twins cams?)

1" body lift + 1" suspension, with 28"x8.5"x15" good year mt/r

The Vit are in very, very, very good shape.

Never going off-road.

DILEMMAAAAA!!!!!!!

Well, the 2.0 is a dual overhead cam unit.  Sounds like a good deal!  Will it perform like a 2.5L V6 in a GV?  Nope.  Will it be close?  Probably.  I think the 2 door Vitara is probably quite a bit lighter than the Grand Vitara, so the horsepower difference will be offset by that.

Shoot, what IS the horsepower difference?

Isn't the 2.0 something like 140 HP?  (I know the 1.8 is about 120)
Isn't the 2.5 around 150?

Plus:  Suzuki sin't making any more 2-door soft-tops.
Jump on it while you can!

My father own a 1999 4 doors tracker with the 2l I4 and i like it ,but in a 2 doors i think it will be just better!?

The 2l I4 produce 127 hp and 134 lbs of torque...

And the 2.5 V6 produce 165 hp and 162 lbs of torque...

I will buy it!

2-doors are very nice indeed.  Plus they don't make them anymore so take very good care of it and don't let it rust away like the tracker!! :)
