Body lift problem! for all you 2" lift guys!
« on: March 07, 2008, 06:17:59 PM »
I was following the instructions on Zuwharrie to do the lift on my 95 2dr 16V 5spd tracker and I ran into a snag! I'm putting on a 2" body lift with 2" tubing I got 2" bolts but they won't fit in the 2" tubing...DUH ! I should have figured that out!.I believe that I need 1 1/2" bolts so they will fit inside of the tubing and go through the hole on the bottom. My question is will 1 1/2" be long enough to get the bolt on and will it work ?There only seems to be the tubing and about 1/2-3/4 of a inch in the frame to consider. Also will the body bolt be bottoming out or interfering with the bottom of the tubing where it is only 2" tubing?
Thanks!

Is the calmini lift square tubing? I thought it was rubber! If so how far down from the inside of the square tubing does the original body bolt go I don't want to have to trim it if I can avoid it!
Thanks!

So I guess I don't get it what are you guys doing that have 1 1/8" or 2" body lifts ? I see you have them but how did you put them on?Looks to me like I will have to modify the body bolts to fit! I don't see any other way! Or am I missing something? The body bolts will hit the bottom side of the 2" suare tubing I'm sure and if it doesn't there won't be any room for the 1/2" bolt head for the tubing to frame.....WHAT AM I MISSING!!!

What rubber puck? The body puck I thought that was the way it went. Body puck tubing under washer/rubber washer then nut.
