2" inch body lift...adjustments ???
« on: February 24, 2005, 09:17:26 PM »
I have read mixed things abou the two inch body lift for a sidekick 91 2 door, mine is a automatic , can I do the 2" inch body lift without needing to alter my four wheel drive shifter, steering or brake lines.....or do you have to do all these things if you go with the 3"inch......information much appreciated.

2" on an automatic is easy. Lengthen the TC shifter (I went 3"), disconnect the gas filler neck and slide your gas tank hose out a little on either end. If you have A/C disconnect the brackets on the line that goes across the radiator until you're done, then you can put one back on. I had to rotate a clamp behind my distributor and disconnect the intake hose until I was finished. Just go slow and keep an eye on everything. It's really easy ;)

Don't forget to check the steering shaft ,the front driver's side brake hose and the light wiring from the rear taillights, ah front and rear bumpers need relocation but not to much.
hope it helps

The steering shouldn't be a problem with a 2". You can unclip the brake line from the left front strut while jacking the body but it shouldn't be a problem. I didn't have any issues with wiring. But, keep an eye on everything because there are slight variances between different model years.

My experience matches just what TN_Tracker says ...

Only thing I'd add is if you have power steering, you may need to extend the hoses to the resevoir.
