DOES THE BUMBER BOLT TO THE FRAME & TO THE REAR CROSSMEMBER IN THE CENTER  AT THE STOCK LOCATIONS?

I'VE  GOT ONE ON ORDER & ARE TRYING TO RAISE THE GASTANK BEFORE IT GETS HERE.

Thanks Jag ;) Definately something to think about. ....snip....

Any chance of pics of the Jeeps bumper?

Zig

I don't have any pics of the drop down tire carrier, but if you get a chance, check out JP Magazine, August issue, Nadabuggy, pg 56-61 to get the idea.  I keep forgetting to pick up the FSM for another topic, but I won't tomorrow. I'll scan it at work and post in my webshots. Will let you know.

There is a pic of the 'design' of the hoop swing down tire carrier in my webshots under Suzuki Other Stuff. This is rather simple design. However, since you plan to keep the swing tailgate, dropping something down may interfere with your ability of getting into the back of the Trackick. Something else to think about.

The hoop layout is based on the tire and overall drop height. Most use a simple little jack to change a tire rather than the hi-lift. So lifting the truck on one side isn't that high off the ground to change a tire. The carrier will still be on the ground.

Along with the bumper comes two brackets each one slides into round part of the frame that is exposed once the old bumper has been removed then at the top of those new brackets is a hole drilled through it in which you place the original screws back in mounting it firmly to the frame.

(this is a good area to place some welds along the leading edge of the new brackets to fix them permantly to the frame)

Then carefully align rear bumper with a second pair of hands and from behind the bumper place the bolts in finger tight so that once the bumper is where you want it then use a 3/4 inch socket and tighten down the top bolts, then check your angle again making sure it's where you want it and tighten bottom bolts.

(I personally spot welded each bolt from the backside to prevent them from backing out on arough terrain)

Next mount your swing arm with provided hardware being sure to use one of the 3 lock washers provided.

Next place the spring inside the latch portion of the swing arm followed by the sliding delrin latch and screw in from the side the retainer pin follwed by the black round handle. Close and latch swing arm. Next mount the spare tire mount using the remainder of the hardware provided.  And mount tire on your new rack.

This doesn't take rocket science to install if you have a mechanical mind, my new bumper didn't have instructions and it turned out fine. You may end up with spare parts but don't worry all is fine you can call Chris at Calmini (800-345-3305)  if you run into a problem which you shouldn't if you take your time.

Approximate install time is 30 minutes including dismantling old bumper.  ;)
