'97 Sidekick Sport?
« on: May 24, 2004, 04:00:14 AM »
Hello people, first time posting.

I recently caught the Suzuki fever and picked up a mint condition Sidekick. For starters, I want to get some new wheels but I am having a little trouble finding a wheel that will fit. I have tried 3 American Racing wheels and 1 Unique wheel. The guy at the dealership is just as puzzled as I am. American Racing insists that the wheels they sent should have fit, so does Unique wheels. I tried out the Renegade and the AR-767 15X7, 15X8 0 offset, negative offset to no avail. Unique wheel sent me 15X7 with a positive offset, same thing, it touches the rotary.
I'm freaking out!
So I am turning to you guys, the real experts on ZUKIS to help me out.
What 15" wheel will fit my KICK?
Thanks a bunch!

There are a few on here that have sidekick sports, but they are different in a lot of ways compared to a regular sidekick, they are more akin to the grand vitara, they have a wider front end and I believe larger rotors, I am sure the members here from Europe might have info on what will fit.

Welcome to the BBS. I think people are running 16" or larger wheels to clear the larger brakes of the KIck Sport. I'm not posative though.

Zukipilot, if I put a 16" or larger wheel, what is the max tire I can put on those wheels.
Thanks

I have a Sport model and I run 16"x7"  U.S. Wheels with 4" backspacing, even with the 16" wheels I still had to run 1" spacers in the front because they hit the brake caliper.
There are many differences between the Sport model and the 1.6L model.  Check out my web page in the project section to see the up grades I have done to my Suzuki.

One more thing,  my wheels wobble like crazy because they were welded together crooked,  then I had problems returning them because I ordered them online, be careful when buying this brand.

There is no way you can put a 15" will on a Sidekick sport.  The front rotors are too big and the calipers hit the inside of the wheel.  They have to be 16" or bigger.
