im putting in a 5.13 3rd in my auto sidekick, just wondering if there is a way to keep the abs working  ? or is it going to affect it not having the speed sensor hooked up?

Does the 3rd  with the 5.12's your putting in have provisions for the RWAL sensor in the housing? Im assuming it doesnt, In order to have abs you would have to swap all the parts from the 5.12 housing to the 4.62 housing. Which you wouldnt be able to do unless you had a install kit. However I just left my abs disconnected. It threw the brake light on in the dash but I just unplugged the ABS sensor under the dash and it went away. The abs sucks more or less anyway. HTH. Andrew

Its right behind the brake pedal up on the firewall a little bit. Just a little black box. If you cant find it I'll snap a picture for you. HTH, Andrew

does that black box control anything else besides the abs? just seemed like there was alot of wires coming out of it.

hmmm, i did a 4.62 to 5.12 switch in my '96 and the ABS still works fine, and i've gone from 24" tires to 30" tires and it still works OK..  but i took the 3erd's to my mechanic and he installed him so no idea what he did to make the ABS work...

the 5.13 3rd that i had, didnt have a sensor for the abs. and i didnt have a install kit, so i couldnt switch everything in the housing over. thats all.  but it works fine without the abs.
