Y wanted more lift , but the stability issue was a mayor concern since I like driving fast (endurance races).

So , more height needed more width...

After numerous looks under the sidekick and countless reads to Mike's article on ifs widening I dicided it was time to do it my self. The only problem was that I wanted more. 3 inches on each side.

I don't have fabulous fabricating skills , but thought I could do something like that, even though the finishing was surrelly not going to be nice....

Now I have different track widths front and rear....but I like it...it's really great for sharp fast turns

how did you get the camber correct with all that widening? enough lift for it to even out with where the strut bolts up and camber bolts or slotted struts?

that looks freaking badass by the way. makes me wish my GV had steel arms instead of cast iron

I moved the upper mounting position of the strut 1" outward (aproximating it) it turnd out pretty well , and as I had the struts slotted in the past , it let me correct in more precise way the camber.
 

awesome. what about the CV's though. they look a little stretched out? can't knock it if it works though and I'm no knocking it by any means. even if the CV's were being slowly killed I am still in awe about how wicked that turned out

when te pictures were taken the CV where still floting in the air.... At this moment the CV angle is really bad and I need to lower more the fron Diff but nothing a couple of brackets can't fix.

As for the wide issue I made an spacer with double bolting pattern , and now I run two driver's side CV . I took a picture to show the spacer and the new track width.

those are some nice CV spacers man. how did you manage to get an axle stub for the passenger side? I'd like to run two drivers side CV's myself but that wouldn't happen for a while

that is a freaking wicked kick, good job man. I think money wise and stance wise once you drop the diff you'll have calmini's front suspension beat pretty much.

I used the stock axle stub , just bought another driver's side complete cv , and as Hagen did , I cutted the stub from the original cup and made the same bolt flange that the one on the driver side and weld it to it , then I placed the stub on the axle and just mounted the the CV I boought with the three stock bolts.

We'll see how it does in the next one..as for now I have been jumping arround and testing it , maybe I'll have a friend take a picture...

Very interesting!  Keep us posted!  Seems like that spacer and widening might be a good way to change it a bit, and use Toy or other stronger CV/Axles???  Have you thought of that??

that's awesome. seems like it would be difficult to get that flange centered for welding it. glad to hear it's taking some jumping around well
