I was going to try to change the least amount of things as possable.  What I was think was to get a whole GV rear change the flang from the xl so that the drive staft bolts right up.  Or B drill new hole to match.

I have a 2000 GV and ive fitted lockrights to both diffs. You use the 1510 sierra lockrights. they fit in nicely. The front is easy but will require manual hubs.

The rear is a little harder. You really need to machine/grind a small lip off the side gears where is sits against the center cross pin block and shim up the difference. This is so the side gear sits in better and will reduce the ammount of play . It will fit and work without the grinding but it will annoy you to no end. Alternatively you could run 26 spline sierra/sami side gears.

Can you explain this to me or point me in the right direction to get more info? I have a 1999 Tracker 1.6l 16V 5spd. I want to install a locker in the rear. Since mine is a 99, I'm assuming it's pretty much identical to your 2000 GV.

Thank you in advance!

He is describing the front locker. The rear does not require any modification. ;)
