Tire Size Question

Tire Size Question

Alright. I've got a 1991 Tracker with the 6" Calmini Combo Lift, and have been wondering about getting some more lift out of it, and what tires I could fit on it. I was thinking ~1.5" coil spacers, new, longer shocks (need suggestions here), and flipping the strut plate thingy around for a bit more travel in the front. If I were to do this, could I fit 35" tires underneath it, or should I stick with 33's?

well the guy who told me how to do a home made body lift had 2 4"X4" square tubes stacked for an 8" body lift!  that is a lot and i think you have to mod some break lines and other stuff, the nice thing is it would help keep some of your weight lower for a better CG

I was asking what size tires I could fit with the added coil spacers and longer shocks/inverted strut thing...

33s OK 35s ??? Ask Mike, I think you
need to move the kick pannels back
to clear them, and relocate the A-arm
out for more clearance.

With Mikes Over Rotation, front end widening and cutting the floor pans and moving them back, I have plenty of room for 35's but chose to stick with 33's due to axle strength. I have the front end taken care of, but I broke some rear axles with 33's and I personally dont think that they (rear axle shafts) will hold up to off road abuse trying to spin 35's. I decided that I would rather have a reliable drive line and 33's that 35's and worry about the axles breaking/

Good point. I might look into some 'yota axels sometime in the distant future... when I have another daily driver :)

??? HOW DOES A 8" BODY LIFT GIVE YOU A LOWER BETTER  CENTER OF GRAVITY.......SOUNDS SCARY TO ME  :o .........JUST WONDERING  ??? MATTY D.  ;)

   I'd say he means as opposed to a suspension lift where'd you'd be raising most of the vehicle weight instead of just the body.

but the 3" lift increases body lift... i don't even want to think about how much roll there'd be with 8" on a trackicker... /???

yah 8" man u would not ride in that especially 2 peice of tubing stacked on top of each other :-/ here in BC the body lift height is 3" man if the gostopo ever caught you with that they would eat you and shit you out for breakfast
