Gear challenged
« on: May 31, 2005, 05:49:53 PM »
I'm getting mixed opinions about what gears will work on my sami, it's got the lift, 31's and header, the usual little HP goodies. But 5th gear is only in my dreams now. Some say the 4.62's from an auto trackick, some say 5.12's. All I want is to spin the 31's in the mud and still do 110km/60mph on the hiway ??? ??? ???
When this thing hits 88 MPH your gonna see some serious sh!t (hahaha)

Look at the bottom of this post, and click
on the gear calculator, this will tell you
what gears will get you back to stock

Be patient, there are lots of calculators
on the page, but you will find the right one

4.62's and 31's work well together. Speedometer will read 12-13% fast.

Take a look at transfer case gears. Trail toughs 4.89's or Calimini's 5.14 gears will leave you closer to stock than 4.62's with a much deeper low range.

TT's 5.14 are a little too low for 31's. Even with the old tall 5th tranny, BUT there PERRFECT for the 33's I just put on. At 3800RPM Im cruising at 72Mph (GPS verified) and could easilly hit 80+. The dash said 55mph

And the low is LOW,,,, ;)
