Grand Vitara 2.5L interchange years

Grand Vitara 2.5L interchange years

Will a 2004 2.5L GV work in a 2000 2.5LGV. Will those motors interchange? Are they compatible? I have searched and read pages of posts, but came up with nothing with 2.5 to 2.5 swap only 2.5 to 2.7. Thanks for your time.

i dont know first hand or anything but if you looked it up on an interchange search engine or called a scrap yard it will tell you it fits.  It's definaelty the same engine but I guess you're wondering if there's some minor differences. maybe ask your local suzuki dealer?

a good check is the car-part.com site, it is a salvage site so the search is interchange compatible.

Yes it will...1999-2005 2.5 (same engine). I worked as a District Manager for American Suzuki Motor Corp from  1988-2006,

I always wondered about the 10hp bump around 2002.  Was that simply a marketing move on paper?

Ok, but are there any changes to wiring, do you have to buy the newer computer... any of that? Or just plug and play?
