Grind and Clunk
« on: October 11, 2006, 05:24:52 AM »
The oil pan on my 2002 Esteem rotted through and was repalced at the dealer.  Since then, each time I go over a bump in the road, there is a "clunking" sound I can feel under my feet.

Also there is a new "low grinding" sound I can hear under heavy acceleration/decelleration that seems to be coming from the driver's side of the car.

The car has exactly 100,000 miles on the odometer.  What could these new noises be?

Any help is grealty appreciated.

 ???

I would crawl under the car and see if the exhaust pipe is hanging too close to the body or if a hanger is missing.
