Help with pricing a 1988 1/2 Samurai, original owner
« on: August 09, 2019, 11:21:29 AM »
Hello - I am the original (woman) owner of a 1988 1/2 Samurai that I have loved and driven gently for a very long time. Because I am a failure as a mother (not really), neither of my sons can drive a stick and I have finally decided to sell it.
I have done a lot of research but have not found a similar car for sale, and I am looking for pricing advice.
Here is the description and I have attached a few photos, but of course will add many more when I list it for sale, and a friend suggested a video of the engine running, since it is such an old car.
I will very much appreciate any guidance. Thank you!

125,265 miles
Champagne with beige/brown interior
With original sales receipt and most service records
Manual transmission, 4WD
June Virginia state inspection (valid to June 2020)
This vehicle was not used off-road; it was my daily driver.
Body: original everything except the soft top.
(Was repainted about ten years ago in the original color.)
Dash in excellent condition; aftermarket JVC radio/cassette.
Seats in good condition overall; driver seat is damaged. Rear bench seat.
Original Suzuki front floor tray mats (driver side mat has some damage)
Carpet in excellent condition.
Includes bikini top (aftermarket) and one original Suzuki Samurai cloth seat cover.
Original Suzuki tool kit, never used.
Original Suzuki mud flaps (front and back)
I bought replacement OEM door straps but did not install them (included).
Rust: some on the hinges and a small amount in the corner of the inside back cargo deck where rain came in. No other body rust; the car was bought in Virginia and lived here for all its life. Garage-kept for last 16 years.
Mechanical:
Runs well.
New battery and excellent tires.
AC and heat both work; however, only one at a time. A mechanic (or you) must switch over at change of season.
Fuel gauge does not work.
Has antique plates.
VIN JS4JC51CXJ4261435
Carfax report dated July 27, 2019

Hi, TrophyMoto - to be honest, when I received no replies I just put it on the back burner. The car is in my garage and I drive it from time to time but with antique plates it costs me nothing to keep it except some very minimal insurance. Do you have any pricing ideas?
