Whats up, i'm new and got a few questions[ of course! ]
« on: May 01, 2007, 02:50:25 PM »
Ive had my samurai for a few months now ;D. Ive put a 2in body lift on it and got some 1in lift shackles for it but havent put them on yet. IM pretty sure im gomma go with either toyota or D44s out of a wagoneer later but for now im just wantin 31s while I source those parts. Will 31s fit under it with 3ins of lift? If not will 4ins work? I was also wondering about a twin stick setup. I dont know how to weld[yet] and i dont know anybody who does. The places i wheel are mostly just trails with alot of mud. I also wanted to know if anybody makes a fully bolton toyota power steering kit for when i swap axles. Anyway thats about it any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Bolt on toyota steering kit, Rcoky-road.com has it, and all you need is the power steering pump, and the sterring box.  And for the tire fitment question, (I'm prety new, so my answer isnt the best to go by) but I know for a fact that a S.P.O.A lift does fit 31's, so that would be about 4-4.5 inches of suspension lift. I hope it helps, and here is the link for the power steering set-up. I'm sure others have it, I'm not playings favorites, its just that this is where I found it.

I had an 88 Sami and ran 31s with a shackle reversal and never rubbed. I will say though that the suspension on that thing was SUPER stiff so that may have been why they did not rub, rode like a damn wagon.

I was thinkin if the shackles didnt lift it high enough  I would just buy some AALeafs from rough country or deaver.

A spring over is 5.5 to 6 inches of lift, and 32" tires would fit what you have, as far as power steering i would go with a sidekick/tracker setup its easier unless your stuck on yota its just a harder swich and is only a little bit better, hardly noticable, i run 35" tires toyota axles and lockers with my sidekick p/s.

Im running 2" shackle reversal and 2" body lift and 31 11.50 ltb's and beat the rockers in at
the wheel well that was the only place i rubed under full flex and full turn.
The ltb has a large lug that sticks out and only rubed on it.the rims are 2.5" Back space.

I would go with the yota kit cause my tracker P/S sucks  the pump isnt big enough for 31s it cuts out i think the yota kit would be much better and more reliable.
