After a long hot dry summer here in texas, finally got some good soaking rain.  went out and had a blast playing in the mud down the river bottoms.  3 days later (2) busted heater hoses and a leak in the head gasket .  guess i should stay outta the mud and stick to the trails!!!

How did the hoses bust and why is the head gasket leaking? What's it got to do with mud? Never cared for the stuff myself and try to avoid it, but it shouldn't bust up your hoses like that.

And The Rest of the Story...........

Here's my 2 bit scenario;
         1st;  Fresh Rain on BAKED DIRT always gives you a nice 1-2" of slop on a Good Bottom.
         2nd; Chicks Dig Mud Covered Rigs (Personally I like Chicks wrestling in Mud !!)
         3rd; Stand on it, Mud Rooster Tails are awesome!!!
         4th; Who looks at warning lights/gauges while your just giving it.... ALL HELL ?!!!
         5th; Just before the aluminum block begins to meltdown, the heater hoses give up The Ghost
         6th; NOW with NO COOLANT the head warps and the head gasket lets go !!

          And now you can spend the next couple of weekend off swapping engines !!!

Well damn, that makes a bunch of sense Capt. Another reason for me to stay outa the stuff !  As for chicks diggin mud covered rigs, I prefer my women clean enough to eat off of.

I guess, gettin on it in the mud was just enough to give those heater hoses all they could handle.  Although i drove it for 2 more days with no problems and never noticed any leaks, they finally gave out on the way home from work one day.  coolant gone, heated up the engine, busted the head gasket.  now the head is off to the shop to get re-worked.

Mud is fun... and if your gonna play ya can expect to pay. Afterall it's all just a test to see what is gonna hold up as we push em to the extreme....
