My $100 Tracker
« on: February 27, 2006, 08:57:54 AM »
I just picked up this 95, 4WD, Auto, 16Valve Tracker for $100.  Motor is blown but otherwise fairly rust free with a really nice interior.  I am gonna pull the motor, drop in a 4.3/TH350 and some Waggy axles.

Nice score. Tin top too. I just drove a 1600 mile round trip to get a '91 rag top with a clean body. I will be doing a VW diesel in mine and Toy axles. Are you planning on documenting your swap? I'd like to see pics and details of it. I considered those axles but got a good deal on the Toys. Good luck on your project.

I'm gonna document it.  Its gonna be a slow process.  I still have to finish my Jeep.  But the Jeep is at my parents garage and this is at my garage so I will some tinker time with the Tracker.

I wanted throw another 16Valve in it but their $500.  That and my other Tracker is a 16Valve Auto, so I am gonna take the driveline out of this one and save it for my other Tracker for spares.  I wheel my other Tracker so this will make some nice spares.  I got the 4.3/TH350 and Waggy axles for free and I like to tinker so it will work out nice.

Front suspension is gonna be a wristed 3 link and same with the rear.  I was thinking about HP44/9in but I think they may be too wide and look silly.  So I dunno how it will go.

I been looking at the pictures of V6 swaps, but havent found many write ups.  I havent searched too hard yet either.  Know any good sites?
