intermediate shaft
« on: March 21, 2012, 06:59:32 PM »
My intermediate steering shaft in my Sammy is worn completely out and I can't find one at any parts store around here or any junk yard, does anybody know of a website that I could go to or know if I can use one off a Jeep or summin? Thanks

You can also give Trail Tough a call, they have all of the old Hawk Suzuki parts so they should have a few laying around.

Not really sure why a location would be important information to give advice but so be it.... Merlin offers some good insight on items to check if you choose to purchase a used one. Such as the ones my friend would have or from anyone else.

At any rate at least you have some information to help get you up and going again.  :)

It could help if you filled in your location.
I got mine from Trail Tough, so I could be SURE it had the new, good U-joints. It's easy to get a weird vibration when/if the U-joints start to fail. One joint was so stiff it was almost frozen. U-joints are definitely wear-out items and these are OLD vehicles. I don't wanna be laying upside-down in the dirt/mud replacing one on the trail.

The OP's post is kinda deceiving, but I am pretty sure he it talking about the steering shaft and not the actual transmission intermediate shaft....which I think is what you are referring to.
