New here and need Help!!!!
« on: March 30, 2005, 02:15:56 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I'm new here to ZukiWorld, my girlfriend's friend  told me about this site and it looks like a cool site.

I have had my 92' zuke for about 2 years now and no problem until now.

Two days ago I drove it to a dentist appointment went back two start it and it wont turn over. When I turn the power on a clicking sound goes on underneath the dash and in the engine compartment. Luckly I work at a high school, so I towed it to the auto department.

So it has fuel pressure, fuses are ok, fuel in the tank, spark, new fuel filter but no fuel going into the throdle body.

just that dam clicking sound.

Does anyone here have any ideas what it may be, anything would be a great help.

Thanks,
NLazer

Sounds like the injector isn't firing right. might also be a bad ECM that's not sending the injector the signal to turn on... Just guessing though...
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

Starter solenoid? Is it one click or multiple clicking?

OK, back to basics. Is the battery fully charged? Are the connections clean and tight? If you turn the wipers on, do they move at a normal pace or are they very sluggish? If all of these things are OK try jumping the starter solenoid? If that doesn't work pull the starter and check it.

Low battery will cause the clicking,
try to jump start the trucklet, and
test the alternator, which would be
why the battery could have gone low.

Also, these little trucklets will jump start
with a small battery, so the battery might
just be old and needs a new one

Doesn't this sound familiar to the last thread, where it was the main relay and EGR valve clicking? Of course if theres no fuel in the injector it could be that making the clicking sound. I think you need to use a stethoscope.

I think this is exactly the same problem I have now...... ordered a new computer so let's see if that's it.....
Later mine started... After I reset the ecm by disconnecting the battery. But it rev's really bad, just like it "stutters" or something...
That's why I think it might be the ecm and I ordered a new one.... We'll see and I  let you know.

If it's a stick maybe the clutch switch?, mines been acting up for a year and I have to depress the clutch about 10 times real fast to get the motor to roll.  I get a click under the dash and  underneath.

Good luck!

Go to the Offroad.com BB Suzuki/Geo section and search for "clicky starter" they have tons of info on this way too common problem.

BTW.....go to eBay and get the "clicky starter" fix for a Samurai....or make your own....it is a relay like Ross stated above.....solves the problem. Takes about 5 minutes to install.
