So ive been looking at lifts for a 91 samurai and have come up with the one I think I want but have a few questions about it. Im looking to get the OME kit. Here is the issue though. If i look at rockyroadoutfitters.com they say the lift will give between 2 to 2.5 inches. If I go to the 4wheelparts store here locally, they say OME only makes a 1.5 inch lift kit other than a big one around 5 or 6 inches. It is about 20% cheaper also. My question is. Does OME make 2 diffrent small lifts or would they be the same kit in question? I dont want to go over 3 because I have parked the tundra, and am driving this Samurai daily now. Gas milage is so much better in the samurai. I drive mostly on the street, I do some offroading on the weekends, but nothing major, just trails and whatnot. I am also thinking about putting 1 inch heavy duty shackles on it. The largest tire I would consider running would be 30s, but i think ill only go up to 29s for gas milage. Any thoughts on this setup? I also am not sure which spring to use. They have a heavy, and a medium. I will be adding a front winch and bumper, but nothing on the back. Could i go heavy front, and Medium back? or is it best not the mismatch springs. Any help would be appreciated.

The OME's are closer to 1 1/2". RR is full of it. The heavy duty ones will beat you to death and unless you put a 10,000 # winch on it, not needed.

STEP UP TO A YJ CONVERSION....

OME's are indeed about 1.5" of lift.  +1" HD shackles will get you another half-inch of lift, so you'll be about right for 29's (235/75R15). Or maybe 30's with a little bit of inner wheel-well seam pounding and/or bumper trimming. 9.5" wide tires will fit within the existing fender flares, so you'll not get cited in states like mine (CA).
   
Edit: OME's really softened the ride which kept the wife, and my old back, happier. The 235/75R15's fit with a very minor driver-side bumper trim.  I also have the Petroworks 3/4" (3/8" lift) HD shackles.  The Samurai is already kinda too tall.  I spend too much time on the interstate -- keeping the truck low is important to me. 

Edit2: 29-30" tires are 10-12% oversize.  4.16:1 T-case gears (12% hi-range reduction) keeps my 5th gear useable, and the low range is great!

The 235/75R15 will fit with some front bumper trimming, no lift required.  If all your looking for is some slightly larger tires I would just go with that and some rocker armor and call it good.  Maybe a locker in the rear for help on the trails.  I'm a big fan of keeping the vehicle as low as possible.

Thanks for the replies guys. I think im going to go with the mediums all the way around. After I install the bumper and winch, and it rides soft up front, or drops it to much. I can add a spring later to help it out.

Just curious how it went for you? I was thinking about doing the same thing to my Tracker.

I put the heavy duty ones at all 4 corners on a 86 Tintop and love the ride.

 I've had the OME on mine since 1998, running ARB bumper and winch with heavy spring all the way around and firm shocks , just replaced the shocks with a another set of OME's , running 30x9.50x15  and I get a liitle rub on a hard tight turn, 5th gear is useless unless on a down hill, but cruise's nicley around 55-60mph with the weber and thorley header and low range exhaust kit. It's not a rock crawler suspension but a great all round suspension to make your truck alot more capable, on and off road, look at the OME fitment guide on ARB's site to decide on spring and shocks depending on the amount of wieght you have in the vehicle and then decide, on which on is right for your application
