 ALL-NEW SUZUKI XL7, SX4 LEAD VERSATILE,
VALUE-PACKED 2007 PRODUCT LINE

Feature-packed vehicles at affordable prices
fuel Suzuki’s brand growth in the United States

To usher in the next successful phase of Suzuki’s impressive product line, 2007 brings with it the all-new XL7 midsize crossover – Suzuki’s flagship SUV that balances style, performance and safety.  Along with the XL7 comes another affordable, fun-to-drive, bold and functional vehicle – the all-new SX4 compact sport X-over (crossover).  The Suzuki SX4 is the most affordable all-wheel-drive vehicle on the road and is designed for those who want to live life on their own terms.

The XL7 and SX4 add to the momentum of an extraordinary 18 months in Suzuki’s history with last year’s launch of the completely redesigned Grand Vitara and record sales for the first half of 2006.  The launch of the Suzuki Grand Vitara brand icon provided consumers with their first look at the next generation of Suzuki vehicles in the United States and exceeded expectations for a responsive, yet affordable compact SUV.

All 2007 Suzuki automobiles are backed by America’s #1 Warranty:  100,000-mile/seven-year, fully-transferable, zero-deductible powertrain limited warranty.

2007 Suzuki XL7
With the introduction of its all-new 2007 XL7 the new midsize crossover SUV, Suzuki continues to move forward to the next chapter in its ongoing SUV success story.  Suzuki’s flagship XL7 is bigger, bolder and more powerful than the previous generation XL-7.  The all-new XL7 retains Suzuki’s strong styling cues and features available all-wheel drive and seven-passenger, three-row seating to provide adaptability for active, mobile lifestyles.

The XL7 blends SUV versatility and safety to increase driver and passenger comfort.  It not only offers the cargo and seating flexibility for all aspects of a consumer’s active lifestyle, but performance capabilities and safety features that give them the confidence of being in control.  The XL7’s sophisticated chassis delivers a nimble, car-like ride and comfort whether driving on the highway, city streets or rural roads.

The 3.6-liter, V6, DOHC engine rated at 252 horsepower with 243 lb.-ft. of torque is matched to a five-speed automatic transmission fitted with manumatic controls.  Fuel economy estimates are 18 mpg/city and 24 mpg/highway for the front-wheel-drive variants and 17 mpg/city and 23 mpg/highway for all-wheel-drive models.  Towing capacity is rated at 3,500 pounds.

Three trim levels will be offered:  XL7, Luxury and Limited.  XL7 and XL7 Luxury will be offered in both five- and seven-passenger configurations.  The top-of-the-line XL7 Limited features standard seven-passenger seating.  Each XL7 trim will be offered in either front-wheel drive or available all-wheel drive.

The XL7 has a long list of standard features, including five-speed automatic transmission with manumatic shift, extensive safety features, including four airbags, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ABS with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), traction control system (TCS) and Electronic Stability Program (ESP)1.  Additional features include remote keyless entry, tilt steering wheel, power windows, door locks and mirrors, four 12-volt accessory outlets, cruise control, alloy wheels, satin silver trim, AM/FM/CD audio system with six speakers, privacy glass, air conditioning with automatic climate control and rear air conditioning with separate HVAC controls on seven-passenger models.

The XL7 Luxury adds standard six-way power adjustable driver seat with lumbar support, leather seating surfaces, heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio controls and wood trim accents.  Consumers can choose between the optional power tilt-and-slide sunroof or the DVD entertainment option with wireless headphones and remote start feature.

The XL7 Limited (only available as a three-row, seven-passenger model) adds fog lamps, rear spoiler, upgraded roof racks with silver-colored rails and cross bars and aluminum lower bumper valances, 17-inch wheels and tires,  AM/FM/CD/MP3 XM Radio-ready audio system with seven speakers (including subwoofer) and auto-dimming antiglare rearview mirror with compass.

Consumers can choose the optional Platinum Touring Package (late availability), which replaces the DVD entertainment system with the power tilt-and-slide sunroof, and adds a DVD-based navigation system and chrome-plated alloy wheels.

2007 Suzuki SX4
Designed for those who live an adventurous life, the 2007 Suzuki SX4 compact sport X-over (crossover) is sure to be a year-round standout in any driving condition.  The all-new SX4 (the name stands for (S)port (X)-over for (4) seasons of weather) features a handsome five-door hatchback design, a sophisticated standard all-wheel-drive system, excellent stability and crisp handling characteristics.  The vehicle combines numerous amenities with capable handling to offer an unexpected level of functionality at an affordable price.  The SX4 is the only vehicle in its class sold in the United States with standard all-wheel drive and is the most affordable all-wheel-drive vehicle sold in the United States.

Built in Japan, the SX4 features a sophisticated 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC engine fitted with intelligent all-wheel drive (i-AWD) as standard equipment.  The i-AWD system operates in three modes via a console-mounted switch – 2WD mode for maximum fuel economy on dry pavement; AWD Auto mode, which controls the drive power distribution ratio to the rear wheels in the range of 0-50 percent depending on available traction; and AWD Lock mode designed to facilitate traction in case of snow or mud.  The drive power distribution ratio to the rear wheels in AWD Lock mode ranges from 30 to 50 percent.  When the vehicle reaches 36 mph in AWD Lock mode, the system automatically switches to AWD Auto mode.

The all-new 2007 Suzuki SX4 comes in two trim levels:  SX4 and SX4 Sport.  The SX4 also offers an optional Convenience Package.  All trims are available in manual or automatic transmission, with standard AWD.

The SX4’s standard features include six airbags; front driver and passenger airbags, driver and passenger side-impact airbags and side curtain airbags; four-wheel ABS with EBD, TPMS, seatbelt pretentioners, power windows, locks and mirror, remote keyless entry, air conditioning, AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system with four speakers, tilt steering wheel, 16-inch alloy wheels, black roof rails, daytime running lights, fender flares and front and rear bumper cover plates.

The Convenience Package adds cruise control and leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio controls.

The SX4 Sport adds ESP with TCS, SmartPass keyless entry and start system, automatic climate control, six-disc in-dash CD changer and eight speakers, including subwoofer, heated mirrors, cruise control, leather-wrapped steering wheel with integrated audio controls, silver-colored roof rails and fog lamps.

2007 Suzuki Grand Vitara
First introduced as a 2006 model, the Grand Vitara has garnered much media and consumer praise and has won numerous awards.  The 2007 Grand Vitara features a standard 185-horsepower, 2.7-liter, V6, 24-valve DOHC engine, available Four-Mode four-wheel drive, tough unibody construction enhanced with a built-in ladder frame and an extensive list of interior amenities and standard safety features.

The Grand Vitara offers a sophisticated available Four-Mode full-time four-wheel-drive system.  On the road, drivers have the security of full-time four-wheel drive, and when traveling off-road, drivers can use an interior-mounted switch to engage the center differential lock.  If the going is really slow, the driver can select the Low (4L Lock) mode for low-speed power and traction.  In addition, vehicles equipped with the Four-Mode system can be towed with all four wheels on the ground (with the transfer case switch in the neutral position) to reduce driveline wear and prevent non-driving miles from accumulating on the odometer.

The list of standard safety features is extensive:  ABS with EBD and ESP, including traction control, six airbags, three-point driver and front-passenger seat belts featuring shoulder height adjustment; in the rear seat, each passenger is provided with a three-point seat belt system and a headrest.  Rear child-seat LATCH system (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children), along with rear-door child safety locks, are designed to help protect young rear seat passengers.

The innovative stamped steel unibody with built-in ladder frame features a reinforced cabin with the added safety of a head-impact protection padding and front and rear side-impact door beams.  In the event of a collision with a pedestrian, the hood is designed to absorb some of the impact and help protect against serious head injuries.  The front end and the bumper use energy-absorbing materials to help reduce the possibility of serious leg injuries.  In addition, the 2007 Grand Vitara is fitted with TPMS.

With its carefully engineered control layout and close attention to materials and fit-and-finish, the interior of the Suzuki Grand Vitara is functional and attractive.  The list of standard features includes air conditioning with automatic climate control and micron air-filtration system, cruise control, digital clock with outside temperature, trip computer with instant and average fuel economy indicators and center armrest with internal storage, AM/FM/CD/MP3/WMA XM Satellite Radio-capable audio system, with steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, and an available six-disc in-dash CD changer with seven speakers, including two tweeters and a subwoofer.  Customers who want the convenience of a fully integrated iPod2 system can purchase an iPod interface from their Suzuki dealers.

The Grand Vitara comes in three trim levels:  Base, XSport and Luxury.

The Suzuki Forenza Sedan and Forenza Wagon
The Forenza sedan and Forenza Wagon feature Pininfarina styling, high standard feature content, powerful engines and backing by America’s #1 Warranty.  Last year, both Forenza models received a fresh front fascia design that incorporates a new Suzuki family grille.

2007 Suzuki Reno

The Reno with Popular Package adds power tilt-and-slide sunroof, remote keyless entry, steering wheel-mounted audio controls, leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift lever knob and cruise control.

2007 Suzuki Aerio
The fun-to-drive Aerio sedan comes standard with a sporty 2.3-liter, four-cylinder, 16-valve DOHC engine with 155 horsepower and 152 lb.-ft. of torque and adds more value in 2007 with the addition of a standard AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system.  Other standard features include air conditioning with automatic climate control, digital clock with outside temperature gauge, power door locks and a remote keyless entry system.  Customers who want the convenience of a fully integrated iPod system can purchase an iPod interface from their Suzuki dealers.

It sounds like the FWD based XL-7 is more like a mini van than an SUV. I do like the looks of the SX-4 though.
