I have a '90 Samurai that just died the other day. I can remove the aircleaner and dribble gas into the throttle body and it will fire up until it burns up that gas, the fuel pump is working (I can hear it buzzing when the key is turned on).
I also loosened up the fuel line to the throttle body and it sprays out gas.
I have checked the wires going to the solonoid in the top of the T/B and when the test light is hooked to the "neg" side of the battery, neither wire is "hot"..but when I attatch the test light to the "pos" side of the battery the test light barely comes on when cranking the engine over while touching the solonoid wires!!??!!
When I bought this car two months ago the previous owner told me that the reason the horn and wipers didn't work was because the fuse box has some coorsion on the back of it, I tested the fuses and they are all good, and putting a fuse in the "ECM Test slot" gave me a code of..1..2..,I was told that 12 means everything is O.K.!!??!!
I am at a total loss here and in a little bit of a bind..can anyone offer some more advice.
I really don't want to pay $212.00 for a fuel pump and after installing it, still have the same problem...but if ya'll think that is what the problem is..I will bite the bullet and go buy one..
Thanks for your help,
Russel
