quick update.....
ive had a play around with the carb... an i think i may have fixed it!
i spent a while looking at everything... the i removed the linkages that activate the choke.... started her up... she started fine... but then just started revving an revving like i had my foot to the floor..... something wrong... put it all back the way it was....
i then looked at the where the throttle cable attaches to the carb.... an pulled it so it was out as it could go... this seemed to lower the revs to the normal rate.... but it wouldn't stay there... an i could see how i coud make it stay there....
then i looked on top of the carb.... right by the air intake there is a small cog which has an arm that can move up an down that has teeth on it which turns the cog.... when this is pushed down.... it lowered the idle... an everything was fine

.... i used my gold ol friend Mr Cable tie an it was problem solved!!!! it now runs perfect.... idles around 1000 (a bit lower one its cold, but doesn't cut out) loads more power!!!! no horrible petrol fumes when i accelerate... an realy smoothe power!!! it doesn't jump around an splutter when at low revs under strain.... its incredible!!!
for my good work i treated my self to a k+n air filter... which sounds AWSOME... bit kev though
oh well.... hope that info helps any one elso whos had this problem, i can send pictures if they wish.
cheers guys
Andy
