I'm sure I will like it!   8) I will be sure to give it a thourough thrashing for you! My biggest problem will be holding myself back I used to have a toyota on 37's etc and now a sidekick on 30's?

Somehow I will have to refrain from taking some of my favorite trails for a while!

Agreed, without some help the strut towers are rather flimsy.

The suspention lift is absolutely 4". Next one that goes in will have pics that prove! Till then, please try to keep in mind that the original post was for the purpose of gathering oppinions on the concept, and we didn't think proof of the lift size would be required. 8) Next time however, I'll post tape measure pics, and mabey even a shot of Geoff sticking his head between the tire and fenderwell! (Geoff has AT LEAST a 7-1/2" melon!) heh heh.

As for the price.....This kit is not yet in the full production stage, and still being sold as a "one off" The price of the kit will change as it develops. That's why it is best to call Geoff at the number posted above and talk to him personally about pricing.

Chet-- You must be the lucky dog that's getting the free bee! Can't wait to see how you like it.<----Jay

I personally think it's a great concept, and that we need more choices for lifts. Great idea showing us a lifted 4 door pic..  ;D I love 4 doors.

I hope this does well, and I can't wait to see pics!

The front and rear of my Caviler is IFS/IRS
and uses a coilover strut, but these guys
would be too soft for offroad

All caviler's have a beam rear axle. plus the coils sit seperate from the rear shock. I dont know about the whole coilover tracker front. those strut towers are realt weak.

Good idea, but I m worried about the use of stock upper shock mounts.I dont think they can hold the stress that a coilover set up produces.Whatever truck I ve seen till now that goes to coilovers, uses extra strenghtened mounts welded on the frame.(and more like roll cage extensions).I was thinking of installing coilovers (King )but everyone told me that coilovers and stock Sidekick mounts are not a good idea.

My 98 has a spring on top of the shock,
bolted to the body, I called it a coilover,
it might not be exactly that, but close enough.

You are right it is a beam rear axle not
an IRS as I was thinking it was.

The coil spring and the shock come out in
one piece, so I called it a coil over, I can post
a pic to show you guys what it looks like, the
spring rides way up high, not like a coilover
you would see on an aftermarket suspension

No coils in the stock location = A LOT of room for realy big CV'S!!!!!!

But struts tower brace is extremely necessary.

and yeah, 6" minimum please!

Mcpherson struts!!!

Any car with Mcpherson stuts (almost all front wheen drive cars) are coil over struts.  So if you want to see what one looks like, just stick you head in the wheel well of almost any FWD car you see.

Also, I'm with thouse about the weak strut towers of the tracker.  I've hear people bending them as they are.

If you think Coilovers are sexy,
you should see how Mcpherson struts  ;D

Thanks,
I've been away from front wheel drive
too long, since I had an 82' Scirocco

I still miss that car   :'(

I can't say that I'm really impressed :-/    I gotta agree with everyone on questioning the strength of those towers ???   if thats a 4" suspension lift how did you address the cv's they won't last long unless you've dropped the front axle. You just mention the axle being moved on your stage 2 kit? ???

The strut towers in a Trak/kick are not strong enough. That is being addressed in the kit. We have not had any trouble with cv's yet, but we're not quite finished thrashing on it yet either.(still testing)
The stage II is an option to run bigger tires without cutting the firewall side of the wheel well. It includes A-arms and bushings. The reason for making this optional, is that the price of the kit will be more attractive to people who do not plan to run 32" tires or bigger.
