The pressure plates and flywheels are the same between the 8V's and the 16V's.  The only difference is the 16V fiber/friction plate is bigger diameter...I assume because of the higher HP of the 16V engine.  But you can mix/match any of the fiber/friction plates/pressure plates and they will all work fine.

As mentioned, I would make sure you put the friction plate in the right way.

hello
i got it a part last night and the throw out bearing and pressure plate are gone. the throw out bearing went through  the pressure plate i  think the clutch disc was in wrong.which way do the springs on the disc go toward the flywheel or the pressure plate?
thanks.

You can see springs on both sides of the clutch disc, so I'm not really sure what you are asking there.
IIRC, the clutch disc will only go one one way AND fit flush up to the flywheel...if you install it reversed, I thought the center splined part of the clutch disc would hit the flywheel before the fiber/clutch part of it would fit flush against the flywheel.  In other words...the side of the clutch plate/disc that has nothing sticking out beyond the fiber part of it, goes against the flywheel.  Hope that makes sense.

It should say on the disk flywheel side, with all the clutches i have replaced they have always said flywheel side towards the center of the disk.
