mysterious unlocking door locks
« on: December 30, 2010, 09:48:08 AM »
I hope someone has input on this one.

I have a 92 4 door with auto door locks.  Recently they have started unlocking when I try to lock the doors.  It happens if I use the key or the door lock switch or the outside door.  After a few tries it usually will lock but the other day I went back to my vehicle after work and the door locks were unlocked.  Any ideas?

Sounds like a short.  On yours do all the doors normally unlock when you manually unlock the passenger side?

they all lock and unlock from the driver's door

I thought it might be a short but didn't want to have to track it down

The easy way to test is to pull your door panel off and clip the reference wire on the drivers side.  That way they only go up and down with the remote.

Otherwise it's something with your ECU.
