toe-in adjustment - calmini 3" lift
« on: March 15, 2004, 03:53:05 AM »
alright, so i figure i need to do a quick adjustment so i can drive to the alignment shop tomorrow. do you measuer the overall length of the tierods, or do you measure between the front wheels?

could someone give me some details on doing the adjustment, and some measurements and where those measurements are taken.

thanks

For a quick toe adjustment, measure the space between the front of the front tires at their closest point ( the sidewall buldge) Then measure the same gap at the back of the front tire. Set it for 1/8" to 0" closer in the front then the back of the front tire and drive to the shop.

Good Luck, Eric

Try to keep that measurement horizontal front to back. This gives you the best. Now, Harbor Freight has a measurement gage to do this. Those with full size trucks that bend thier tie rod and/or drag link arms have this said tool.

well, i was going to do the alignment this afternoon, so i went and picked up the tierods that i ordered, inner and outer, assuming that the outer tierod would come with the connecter sleeve thingie... WRONG. im kinda pissed, but i can only be angry at myself since i didnt ask. (i broke one tierod trying to loosen stuff... sheered the inner end rod part)
