Spring Question
« on: March 22, 2007, 04:26:51 AM »
Hi all ,

New here on this forum.
I'm a belgian Guy who drives a 97 2.0 4cyl vitara (track/kick)
Last year i installed the OME 1.5" lift kit running 29inch tyres.

After one year it seems that the front has sagged a little. As i want to add a winchbumper and a winch i think it might be better to replace the front springs.
The normal lift kit comes with the OME951 springs for the front.
Now, should i choose the OME953(heavy load) fr springs from a 4 dr or the OME960 (light load) 4dr springs.
Due to belgian regulation spacers are not allowed.
Any advice is welcome.
Thanks

Hi, and welcome to the forum. I've experienced the same problems with OME springs. I'm using the "heavy rated" spring, and now on the second set. They sagged pretty bad under the weight of the winch bumper and winch. If I had it to do over again, I'd look into getting  a heavier  custom spring, with the added length built in. I found a spring maker that will make them to spec, about $300 USD. Pricy, but if this set sags soon, thats the route I'm goin', unless I can get ahold of some Calmini front springs that aren't totally clapped out. You can also find plenty of info on springs by searching the archives.  Good Luck
