I have been looking at doing the same conversion ever since I put my zuk back on the road after lifting. Mainly the ride in the back is harsh and choppy. I've put 1.5 " lifted rears on all 4 corners ... so the front ride is great but the rear sits about 1 to 1.5' lower (looks goofy). NorthCoastOffroad.com has a setup for front CJ springs in the rear of a sammi. Appears to keep the same axle position by moving the front mount for the spring forward. The longer spring should smooth out the ride. My question is what configuration for the spring pack to level out the truck?
Another method I've heard of is to just slap the springs in with longer shackles.....doesn't sound like a great idea to me. Pinion angles and the like could probably get thrown off that way.
Anyhow, I'd also like to hear more about this from anyone who has researched or done this mod. Thanks.
