Distributor question
« on: December 03, 2019, 10:10:40 AM »
I have an 88 with a weber carb . my distributor has a off round plug that is white . I want to keep a backup on the shelf. all the "cheep" ones have a round plug that is green. my question is the pickup and igniter   the same for both and it would just be a matter of splicing in my plug to make it work?

OK , so where did i go wrong? I was careful when writing and posting so there would be no mistakes ...........And i get sent a digram with only one plug on it and am asked to choose what plug i am talking about! am i loosing my mind or is it the rest of the world?  the only OTHER thing that "plugs" into the dis. is the vacuum advance, but that does not plug in to anything like a electrical plug , it's just a vacuum line. anyway i was asking about the pickup and module not anything vacuum related.

I am getting the feeling i joined the wrong forum.

So it's the Black/White and Brown/White wire your asking about.  And the replacement distributor does not have a three-wire setup on it that is for the EFI Samurais.

The plug style can change, but the wiring is the same.  You can double check the wiring if needed, the diagram is pretty simple on the Samurai.
