Taming the hot top here in our 100f+ heat.

Because our Tracker has a black top it gets hot. We used a heat reflecting film on the windows and did what we could to make the AC  work as well as it ever did but the thin black top got painfully hot to the touch here in the 100f+ dessert heat here in Nevada.
We bought a couple of rolls of that silvered insulation they use for windows when parked and we made a pair of  double layer inserts for the front and back sections of the top. We used Permatex headliner cement to fasten them tightly to the roof. We took the top off to do it so we could clean it first and get a nice fit. When we put it back ob everything stretched out very nicely and looks neat. We may install headliner fabric if we get tired of the silver lining.  It doesn't affect taking the top off at all. The roof is now cool to the touch. It helps a lot.

PS  sorry but we could only get it to add one picture.
