The Gnewt LIVES!
« on: August 29, 2005, 07:18:00 AM »
She is finally back on the trail, after replacement of the rear axles, with Calmini 30% stronger rears, and Toyota 2nd Generation 4Runner CV axles up front, made possible with Stan's conversion kit.  She showed up a bunch of Toyotas on a local trail in my neighborhood.

Here she is in the Line-Up...

That's the really funny part.  It's an Early Bronco, that was NOT part of our group.  As we backed up at one of the obstacles, the driver came up to ask if the trail we were on had an "easy return" to town, or if they had to drive back down the trail.  As I started talking to him, I hear "Hey, I know you".  His wife, is one of my co-workers.  Small world.

That trail is really nice, I wish we had mountains or anything besides mud and sand here in Florida.

Well, she's been dead, shince I snapped the driver's side front AND the driver's side rear axles, in one hop, in Pritchett Canyon, in Moab last MARCH!!!!

I got the Calmini 30% stronger replacement axles pretty quick, then sent the money to Stan for the Toy front axle upgrade, only to realize that I had to pull both my inner axles, and send them to him to be modified also.  I didn't have time for that, until July, and didn't have time to get them installed until now.  I now own an angle-grinder (it was necessary to clear those HUGE Toyota CV's).
