tires?

hello every one i am wondering what kind of tires to get. the zuk wont get driven on the street much. which tire is best all around plese help. i am thinking about a 31" is that a good choice for stock axels?

35" Boggers ;)

TSL's are supposed to have some good bite, without the biting power to break parts as easily as tires like boggers. I'm still waiting to recieve my TSL LTB's (hopefully sometime this week). Then I'll be able to post my observations :)

Then again there are several members here that swear by Wrangler MT/R's.

Your axles will live a long life on 31's. For the price Swamper LTB's can't be beat. They are a very stiff, heavy tire, though, so you'll want to run them down around 5 psi. I had the 31-11.5-15's and I regularly ran them at 5 psi on rocks and never lost a bead on an 8 inch rim. For the best all around tire, get the MTR's. Just pricey, but worth it IMHO.

LTB's are heavy as hell.. and from how they wear, I haven't really heard great reviews on them recently.

I would say almost any M/T will do you good for all around. I actually love my Baja Claw 31x11.50r16's on my 16x5.5 rims. The sidewall is great, tread handles well in almost everything (swap the fronts to reverse-rotation in the sand so you don't dig too much though)...

I wouldn't pay the price for them though (came on the truck)... so I'd probably get some Kumho's or something like that =/

If you're going to wuss out and not go 35" boggers ;) Then I would try the baja Claws.  I have a set of 31x10.50R15's on my ZR2 and am blown away how well they work off road.  I went with the radials because I think the tread pattern is better then the bias.  I had a set of MTRs on my kick when it was stock and wasn't that impressed.  Granted they were only 30 inchers, and there is a certain editer of zukiworld who says they will work better then my boggers.  We'll see next weekend if my open IFS can keep up with his locked solid front axle.  Since he's running MTRs he should kick my pussy little boggers butts...huh Eric.

You've got that black 4-door on 35" boggers, right?

If it weren't for the price of boggers compared to LTB's, I was gonna go in the same direction: 35x14.50 boggers and some Hagen-esque frontend mods to give a bit more lift :) Who knows... maybe I'll still go that direction somedya ;) ;D

If you like the idea of mtr's you could save yourself a boatload of money and get what we at lms swear by Dunlop Mud Rovers I run a set of 235/75/15's on my tracker, Real Red Sammi runs 35x12.50's on the sammi, lawdog just got his 33x12.50's on friday, and are only non zook member runs 31x10.50's on his ranger. I've had mine for a year now and I drive about 10K miles a year on road.  Off road 2-3 times a week in the summer, my tires still look new good in the snow (live outside buffalo) and awesome in the mud. compare 31x10.50's on tire rack $140.00 each mtr's, $84.00 each mud rovers. Whatever you get "Make it hert!!"

ohh yeah almost forgot mud rovers are way lighter than swampers one of are guys has a heep with boggers on it  and he can't get out of his own way those things are heavy man!!!

It's DARK GREEN DAMN IT ;)  If your even thinking about going that direction I would.  I have a friend who when I met him he swore he would never go spring over, or bigger than 31" tires.  When he sold his rig it was on custom coil springs and 33s.  Go big right away... that way you can take the money you would have spent on upgrading one thing at a time, and buy parts for all the stuff you'll brake.  I would at least go with some size of bogger.  I've seen damn near every kind of tire on all kinds of rigs.  Nothing is able to grab onto things and crawl over them like boggers.  Just my opinion.

I already ordered the LTB's, and probably would've stuck with it just because 33x13.50 LTB's = $125/tire, whereas 33x14.50 Boggers = $190/tire.

I'm a cheap-ass bastard, and usually go for what seems best for the price (cheapest :P), but I'll probably go Boggers and SAS later down the road when I've got money ;)
