Tuffy Center Console
« on: January 03, 2007, 01:33:01 PM »
How many of you have these consoles in your sammi's?
I was just woundering what they look like, they seem like a good thing to have, expesialy with a soft top.

Does anyone have any pictuers of and installed one?

Anything like that would be great.

Thanks

I had something like that in my previous samurai. Same size, not sure if it was a factory thing or not. It wobbled around, and I thought it kind of interfered with the e-brake a little bit. Personally, I liked having it for the armrest, but I ended up storing a bunch of junk in it so I got rid of it. Then I liked having the space back. It kind of opened things up.

Come to think of it,  it was kind of handy for storing beer!

Thats what i was woundering about.  How much does it get in the way of the E-break?
I need a place to put my stero that was my main reason for getting it, because where the stero would normally go.  Im filling it up with all my switches, looks nice and easys to see  ;D

So unless i can think of another place to put my stero, i think i might go with the tuffy box.

Well i guess i could stuff a stero in the glove box, not to hard to get into but hey...you cant see it   ;)

But the beer hiding spot pretty much sealed the deal!  >:D

Mine kind of had an open bottom. When you pull up on the e brake, you lose the space in the bottom a little. I also had stuff seep out the bottom. Mostly small stuff and change. That's when it became the beer box. It was a little awkward to grab the e brake. A little awkward to grab the beer too.

i saw one in a sammy, and i thought it looked good, and it seemed to work fine. just wondering, though, would the tuffy console work in a sidekick?

Maybe my box wasn't awkward, maybe it was really just my long-assed legs and arms. I always did have to contort a little and that was probably why. I just didn't like the wobble or the open bottom that mine had.
