Well..... Body lift is much cheaper, and gives you room for bigger
tires, and saves all the added stress on the driveline and related
parts, but you have the steering and T-case/shifter levers to fix
so they work right, and can be a lot of work.

Suspension gives you room for tires also, but is expensive, but
it also gives added articulation for awsome offroad traction action.
It stresses the driveline, front axle, front CV joints, slipyoke hangs
out a little farther than I like and wears the bearing over time.

So what to do, I did the suspension and decided to do the body
for some big tires, I built both lifts as I never have an extra
grand just clogging up my bank account.

I think suspension is a little easier to do, as it is all just bolt
on parts, can be done in 8 hours if you know exactly how it
all goes on, and have all the tools right there.

I think the Cal-Mini drop axle is a weak point, I have 3" suspension
and kept the front axle in the stock location, CVs are a little more
stressed and at the end of their cup travel, but have worked fine
for years, I just had an outer CV clicking, sounds like a birfield
going out, which is from my understanding the same design
as a CV joint (ball bearings in a cup) so I installed a low mile
CV shaft from a towed low mile Track\Kick I found at the
pic-a-part yard.

I'm going to work on slip type front wheel driveshafts
refitted with U-joints to eliminate the CVs and get some
more travel, the stockers are at their limit with 3" suspension
lift.

So with the pros and cons, It's really up to you.

Good Luck

I'd do the Suspension 1st, the body lift took some time to cut and weld the extenison for the shifters, calmini supplied the t-case extension but I had to make the tranny shifter extension.  You can't just weld on the extension and call it good, well I guess you could but kiss your center consoul good bye. I chose to cut both the t-case and tranny shifters into 3 pieces each and rewelded them in a different shape adding a 3in spacer to both shifters, this way I kept the counsoul and didn't have to cut the body.  It takes alot of trial and error and alot of patience to put on the body lift yet keep a stock looking interior, so I suggest doing the suspension 1st  cause it sounds like its just "bolt on and go" however the body lift requires you to take your time and try not to cut corners for the best look.  Yep thats about it.
Hope this helps.

The body lift does take alot of time and includes a lot of work to make your body look stock On my inteiror all I had to do was weld on the transfer case extension and bend the Transmition shifter using a torch.
