whats the realistic value for a 96 X-90
« on: May 27, 2011, 12:18:14 PM »
I'm looking at a 96 X90 right now and wondering the real world value of these rigs.

its all stock
2 owner California rig
128K
good overall condition. (normal wear and tear)
17" goofy ass wheels
bright red
5-speed.

it's at a lot so its probably over priced but I like it and want one.

you have issues man  :P
...
....
.....
they tend to bring a little more than a sidekick for the "limited availibility". I'd price it as a sidekick and add $500 to $1000 for the girlie car body :-*   :P

I have heard tales of electrical nightmares with them, so i'd look really really close to the electrical system.

I searched everywhere for mine and ended up driving across two states to get it. It was a good condition 98, 4x4 5 speed and loaded. I gave $3600 for it. I never had any electrical issues with it, But be sure to check the T-TOPs... It's almost impossible to replace these and they get surface rust that can rot through the tops leaving you SOL.

I love vehicles with t-tops.  Best of a convertible and a hardtop.   If it had a back seat and t-tops I'd be interested in one.

They make me think of Mazda Miata's, only lifted.  Now lower one, a 2x, nice rubber and good suspension, turbo motor or transplant, and you'd have a fun urban rig. Where do you put your purse, i mean ah, shoulder bag?  ;D

When ZW went on Top Of The World Trail at MOAB this X-90 joined us.  Looked good with modest lift and tires as big as mine.

She didn't seem to have any trouble on that trail.  Later we met them coming out of another trail as we were going in.

IT'S CALLED A SATCHEL!
(hangover)

Jeez guys, you're pretty mean.  I always wanted one to trick out.  Simply because they're so unique.  The problem is, the parts availability is limited.
Check out the pictures on Trail Tough's site of their Trailslayer'ed X90.  Doesn't look so girly anymore.
But yes, in stock form, they do look like a little bitch.  Doesn't mean they wouldn't look jacked way up.
To answer your question, I don't know.  There's one around here for $4,500 at a two-bit used car lot.  But like you said, cash really talks at those car lots.
