Gears popping???
« on: September 01, 2005, 04:03:58 PM »
Hello,
I noticed that when I drive my samurai that has front and rear lockers I hear a popping in the rear end when I turn when it is in 2 wheele drive. When I put it is 4 wheele drive it does it in the front as well. This only happens when I turn. I know it has to do with one wheel turning faster than the other but will it break something or is this normal?
                                                                                            Thanks Allen in Missouri

I know exactly what that sounds like, even though I don't have lockers yet. A couple of the guys I trail ride with have them in their sammys, so I get to hear it often... If I wasn't expecting the noise when it happened, I'm sure it would freak me out!
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...
