Winch Bumper for Track/Kick - pt.2
« on: June 29, 2005, 04:29:58 PM »
OK, here are some real steel pics of the new plate style bumper.  I think the lower half is ready to go.  We are thinking about offering it with the tube as pictured, no tube as pictured in the last pic and with a pre-runner style tube setup, pics of that tomorrow hopefully.  We're also considering switching the center hoop to 2" tube.  Still need to bend one and see what it looks like though.

The weight was 74lbs.  The main bumper is 3/16".  The mounting brackets and recovery points are 3/8"  Not sure on the price yet.

Hopefully the haters can see now that it looks nothing like that other bumper now.  ;)

Tucked in tight.  The grill is trimmed a little to put the winch in tight for a great approach.

Gotta love those white wall tires!

Have you thought about doing the upper tube more like a stinger? I think that would look nice.  8) Either that or the inner tube should be thicker. IMO Dont get me wrong, its  lookin good, just my 2 cents.

Innovation, what a concept.  ;)  Looks good!  First front bumper I have seen that I might buy.  Now if it would just hold air...

Why not angle the light hoops to match both the center hoop and the line of the lights?

I like it...  ;D
Could the outermost vertical tubes be at the same angle as the edge of the grill though. It would be perfect after in my opinion.

RE: angling the light hoops.  We thought about trying it.....   I think it will end up looking goofy, but we'll give it a shot and see.

That's looking real nice Jim. I was wondering what size winch that is (9000lb intergrated) ? and does one have to cut away the little lip that's under the grill to fit the winch.

Thanks, Eric

Yes and yes.  ;D

If will hold a 9000 lb winch and that is a Warn 9000i.  You do need to trim the plastic lip.  I didnt want to push the whole bumper out another 2" to save the minor trimming.

On another note,  we tried the angled headlight guards and I was wrong on that one!   That's why I like to get feedback from you guys.  It actually looks really sweet.  The 2" center hoop looks better too.   Pics soon of those changes and the pre-runner version later today.

Jim,

Will your bumper(s) attach properly if we have that "other" companies 6" combo lift?

Kudo's on putting the shackle attachment points on the front.  Wish my bumper had those.

Personally, I have issues with the headlight hoops, and anything in general, called a "brush guard".  If you're "treading lightly" you should never need that stuff.
