Title: kick/trac front locker
Post by: SnoFalls on March 07, 2005, 07:17:56 AM
In order to use a detroit or lockrite, I need to get a samurai rear carrier (+ have it machined)?

Also, since up front I've got 22 spline shafts, I'd need newer model cv's (to match the 26 spline sami side gears)

While I'm doing this I probably should consider a steel 3rd housing from a Grand Vitara as well as a steel Diff housing from a XL7 ...

I'd also like to mod so a left axel can bolt over to the right side too.

Really starting to add up in $$$

so whats your question?  ;D I am looking at  the same thing. You don't need to go to 26 spline right away your 22 spline sidegears will work in the sammy carrier.

I guess I forgot that ... :)

Just trying to fathom if I figured it all properly?

Staying with 22 spline side gears would be best since I have spares there already ...

If you buy the 3rd from a V^ wont that have 26 spline side gears?

Wont the locrite fit in that with a ring and pinion change

just a thought

Make sure you get an 88 an older one w/ the 4 pin carrier.
