Title: this is a muffler ?

i keep seeing photos of this long pipe coming out the side door of suzukis ? is this a muffler or what ? is it for looks or how does it help ? maybe i should put one on my x-90 ? see photo and thread of one on dec 15 posting " how to put 35's on a sidekick "  thanks. marty

it is called a snorkel. it is the air intake for the engine - allows you to drive thru deep water w/o getting water in the intake.
